Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ)
How does KEEISInsight work?
Each night, financial information is retrieved from the MUNIS® data base, processed and prepared for the KEEISInsight software. Every person authorized to view the information can do so through their web browser, as this is web based software. Users of KEEISInsight do not have to have any access to or knowledge of the MUNIS® data base in order to successfully use the software.
Who will use KEEISInsight in my district?
Because every administrator, including school administrators, have areas of financial responsibility, the software is used by all areas of administration. In addition, since reports and graphs from the software are simple to understand, site councils, family and youth resource councils and board members are recipients of KEEISInsight information.
Do I need to purchase additional computer hardware?
Possibly. The software runs on a web server, probably separate from your district web server. If you already have such a server you will not need additional server hardware. Otherwise you will need a new server (See Technical Specifications). There are also minimum hardware requirements for the workstations running the software. If a computer has been replaced within the last two years, it will normally be fine. Where a computer is old and needs to be upgraded, KEEISInsight may require the old computer to be replaced. For details on workstation requirements, see the Technical Specifications.
How quickly can I get answers to financial questions with KEEISInsight?
KEEISInsight is a very quick system, especially given the amount of information it processes and the powerful graphical view it displays. Many financial views are returned in 5 - 10 seconds. Some comparative views covering 4 years of information may take up to a minute to return the results.
How much training do I need to see the financial information pertinent to my job?
KEEISInsight is a simple to use tool. For all administrators using 'favorite' views, training typically lasts under an hour.
